BP Construction Limited is a Canterbury-based construction company specialising in commercial projects, architecturally designed homes, multi-unit residential developments, and commercial, residential, and aged care refurbishment. To date, 60+ homes, 200+ refurbishments and numerous commercial projects have been completed or are underway. BP stands for ‘Best Practice’, with this mantra carried through all projects from start to finish.

Jimmy Percival

Hugely experienced, with over 30 years’ worth of skill and knowledge. A native of Ireland, Aotearoa has been home for Jimmy since 2012. Working his way up from being on the tools to a construction manager role via multiple projects ranging in value up to $35 Million. He elected to form BP Construction Ltd in late 2021.

Holding and maintaining relationships is hugely important to Jimmy, this is reflected by the faith and trust that is bestowed on BP Construction via key clients. He will go the extra mile to ensure client satisfaction. Providing the necessary guidance based on individual client’s business and circumstances to ensure the correct and most efficient outcome.

Director / Construction Manager

Jamie Bustin

A fully qualified carpenter, starting as an apprentice in 2005, Jamie has progressed up to the position of Construction Manager as of today, obtaining extensive experience across all types of construction, ranging from architectural homes, high end commercial fit out’s, warehouses, and retirement sector apartment complexes.

Jamie has a firm grasp on quality and health and safety and is key to maintaining BP’s standards across all sites. No issue is too great nor too small, if there’s a problem Jamie enjoys working proactively and thinking outside the box to provide the best solution for the respective stakeholders.

Jamie is a hugely popular figure in the industry, with his reliability and firm but friendly nature popular within our supply chain circle.

Director / Commercial Manager

Richard Astley

A fully qualified Quantity Surveyor, graduating from Liverpool in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science with Honours; Richard moved to NZ in 2013. He has since spent 13 years within the commercial construction sector, gaining a wealth of experience in the process.

When approached by Jimmy to join BP Construction in 2022, he without hesitation, jumped at taking on the challenge of owning a construction company. It was a natural progression, taking projects from concept to eventuality is a passion. Richard’s work ethic is second to none. He thrives in a collaborative environment, whether interacting with colleagues, clients, consultants, or subcontractors.

Coinciding with the application of effective cost management, innovative strategical thinking, logical approach and calm demeanor; Richard’s abilities, and presence within the day-to-day operations of BP’s are all a mainstay of delivering client’s objectives time and time again.
